The Priory Learning Trust (TPLT), an MAT in Somerset, has announced plans to become one of the greenest group of schools in the country. The trust’s new Strategic Plan includes plans to create environmentally friendly schools over the next 3 years. The first-year plan includes looking at energy management, sustainable travel, biodiversity and green construction. Year 2 and 3 looks at supporting and encouraging the trust’s 6 academies engagement with the environment and implement a multitude of initiatives. About the plans, Jack Clark who runs WCSA’s Climate Justice Revolution said: “It is brilliant to see that The Priory Learning Trust is so dedicated to our environment and my team and I are delighted to be working with the trust to implement these ideas”. WCSA is an inspirational secondary school that is part of TPLT. Climate Justice Revolution is an environmental club at WCSA that is working hard to create a more environmentally-friendly school and the next group of inspirational leaders. Over the next year, the group will begin to branch out to primary schools across The Priory Learning Trust to help the trust’s Strategic Plan. The Priory Learning Trust is an inspirational multi-academy trust that puts students first and cherishes staff. It is also the home of the Jill Dando News Centre, a group of student journalists that report on positive news from the community.
